Madrid, a quaint restored ghost town, is on the Turquoise Trail - a National Scenic Byway. Visitors from around the world come to experience Madrid's historic miners' cabins, now restored and housing unusual shops and artists' studios. "Wild Hogs", the Walt Disney biker comedy, was made in Madrid a few years ago.
Johnsen and Swan Fine Artisans has award winning leatherwork, art pottery, jewelry, woodwork, Native American crafts, as well as the bronze wind bells of acclaimed architect Paolo Soleri, hanging in an ivy covered garden.
